Experience seven days of Alaska Heli Skiing with Eric DesLauriers and EpicQuest. This is a weeklong steep skiing experience, with 100,000 vertical feet of heli skiing (80,000 guaranteed) and snowcat skiing for no-fly days.
Join like-minded skiers and hone your skills in AK powder and AK steeps. We'll work on steep techniques; blending long and short radius turns at any speed you are comfortable with on terrain that will stretch your limits. Video and video review will be a huge asset for self-learning. Come experience all of this and more in a fun and challenging environment of great skiing, great friends, and great times.
You will learn:
- Steep skiing techniques utilizing uphill ski to link turns more efficiently for any speed and turn shape.
- To adjust your skiing to steep terrain with less effort and more control.
- To balance your ability with terrain.
- To scope lines and evaluate hazards.
- To mitigate hazards and ski challenging terrain.
- Slough management while skiing.
- Basic avalanche awareness, avoidance, and rescue techniques and strategies.
AK snow pack, steep Chugach mountains, cold February powder, helicopter access with snow-cat backup combined with world class accommodations and coaching add up to a truly unique ski experience. This camp is for advanced skiers.
