In the Southwest corner of Switzerland, the Rhône Valley is home to some of the most diverse mountain bike terrain in the Alps, with resorts like Verbier, the Portes du Soleil, Crans-Montana, and Zermatt all within easy striking distance. Not to mention the myriad "underground" trails, accessed by trains, trams, and road shuttles, that crisscross the region. Whether you enjoy adrenaline-charged lift-served freeriding, leg-pumping XC rides, or a combination of the two, the 8-day Rhône Valley trip has it all. We'll be based in Verbier, making stops in all of the surrounding resorts and some secret spots as well. Fall is also the wine harvest, and the Valais region of Switzerland is Switzerland's biggest producer, not to mention it's agricultural breadbasket. Private tastings and harvest-inspired local meals, combined with Epic rides, make this trip a feast for you and your bike.

ITINERARY
Dependent on conditions, subject to change.
Day 1 (Saturday): Arrive in Geneva and meet your EpicQuest guide for the
90-minute private van transfer to verbier. Check into your chalet, unpack
and assemble bikes, or get fitted for your demo bike for the week. Time
permitting, take a run off the Verbier gondola to get a look at some of the
terrain we'll be accessing. Dinner in chalet.
Day 2 (Sunday): We'll utilize the Verbier lift system for some classic
descents into the Val de Bagnes. Downhill courses, North Shore, or classic
alpine singletrack - Verbier has it all. Lunch at an on-mountain hut, après
beers and dinner in town.
Day 3 (Monday): Back up the lifts to Verbier, but this time a long descent
off the back to the Roman town or Martigny. One of the smoothest descents in
the Rhone Valley, before winding up on a train ride back home. Lunch
on-mountain, Dinner in Verbier.
Day 4 (Tuesday): We'll head to the village of Dorenaz for some epic
freeriding. Neither a resort or a well-known bike destination, these trails
have been discovered by the local riders who use the tram that accesses the
high-mountain village to the best potential. Steep descents on one side,
long flowy singletrack off the other, winding up in the vineyards of Fully.
Lunch in a cozy café along the Rhone. Dinner in Verbier.
Day 5 (Wednesday): We'll head further up the Rhône to Sierre, to ride the
trails at Crans-Montana ski resort. With a view across the valle of the
Pennine Alps, Crans has some of the smoothest tracks in the area.
North-Shore features, buttery berms, and mossy forest trails all make Crans
one of our favorite spots. And at the end of the day, we'll drop all the way
to Sierre, winding through the vineyards for a magical sunset run. Dinner in
Sierre.
Day 6 (Thursday): We'll hit up some of the underground shuttle rides that we've discovered, taking advantage of the myriad network of ancient hiking trails. Long and flowy, fast and steep - whatever you want to do, we have the ultimate ride to suit your taste. After, we'll wind up at a local mountainside cafe for a fondue dinner.
Day 7 (Friday): Back to Sierre to ride in the Val d'Anniviers. St. Luc has
an amazing network of DH tracks, which we'll ride off the finicular in the
morning. Then, after lunch, we'll head across to Chandolin for the one of
the best descents in the Rhône Valley, all the way down to Sierre. Back to
Verbier. Dinner in Le Châble.
Day 8 (Saturday): For the last day of your Rhône Valley adventure, we'll
head toward Lake Geneva for one last epic ride. After packing and checking
out of the Chalet, we'll head to either Bex or Montreaux for a
train-accessed downhill that you'll never forget. After, we'll head to the
world heritage Lavaux area for a private wine tasting dinner and a night in
a hotel surrounded by vineyards before you head home.
