A week in Lake Garda is barely enough to scratch the surface of this mountain bike Mecca, but we’ll sample the best DH and X-C rides around this beautiful mountain-rimmed paradise. Using the Monte Baldo cablecar, road shuttles, and straight leg power, we’ll meander through the paths of history, from the medieval villages and castles to WWI fortresses, dropping down perfect singletrack trails to the lakefront. And when you’re not on your bike, you’ll relax at the hotel pool, swim or kitesurf on the lake, or just chill out with a glass of the local Valpolicella wine. The true definition of la dolce vita, a bike adventure in Lake Garda is the best way to get your Italian fix.
All Lake Garda Trips arrive Saturday-depart Sunday (8 days, 7 nights).
Package for 6 people includes:
Not Included:
Day 1 (Saturday): Arrive in Milan or Venice and meet your EpicQuest guide for the 2-hr private van transfer to Lake Garda. Check in to your villa or hotel, unpack and assemble bikes, and possibly get in one sunset lap off the Monte Baldo Tram. Dinner in Malcesine.
Day 2 (Sunday): Explore the descents off Monte Baldo. With 5000’+ runs to the lake, can you handle more than 3 of them? Lunch at mid-mountain restaurant. Dinner in Brentonico.
Day 3 (Monday): We’ll head across the lake to Monte Tremalzo, either for shuttle rides or a X-C day, depending on your interest. Drop into the famous “Adrenalina” downhill before lunch on the lake in Limone among the lemon groves, and a ferry ride back across the lake. Dinner in Brentino Belluno.
Day 4 (Tuesday): Back up Monte Baldo for another ride off the backside, exploring remnants from WWI before winding back down to the lake. In the afternoon, a visit to the thermal baths and dinner in Bardolino.
Day 5 (Wednesday): We’ll explore further north of the lake, in the Val Giudicarie for some epic uncrowded singletrack. Lunch on-mountain, then a private winte tasting in the famous Valpolicella vineyards along the lake, and dinner prepared by a private chef.
Day 6 (Thursday): Another day to the north, exploring the Alte Garda peaks of Pichea for some incredible high-adventure runs. We’ll wind up for a late lunch in the village of Canale di Tennno, a medieval heritage site and one of Italy’s most beautiful alpine towns. Dinner in Malcesine.
Day 7 (Friday): Today we’ll explore the history of the Garda region, taking in the castles, WWI fortresses, and the amazing trails that connect them from the seats of our bikes. Garda was a major strategic point during the Great War, and the Army mule paths that were created now serve as the ultimate MTB paths. Lunch in a remote mountain village, dinner in Riva del Garda.
Day 8 (Saturday): Time for one last run up the Monte Baldo trams for some ripping singletrack before packing up and heading for the city of your arrival. If it’s Venice, we’ve arranged a trip to the Peggy Guggenheim museum (or the Venice Biennale) and a night on the town. If Milan, the Palazzo di Brera’s impressive collection, followed by one last incredible dinner. Spend the night at a hotel in either Venice or Milan.
