MILES SMART

BIO

MILES SMART is a full time Ski Guide and Mountain Guide. La Grave, France is his winter home. Miles has skied numerous steep technical descents including the Couloir Gervasutti on Mount Blanc du Tacul and a guided ski descent of the Grand Teton. Miles has completed eighteen ascents of El Capitan and set speed records on a number of classic grade VI wall routes in Yosemite. On expeditions Miles has climbed on peaks such as Ama Dablam, Shishapangma, Trango Towers, Cerro Torre and Fitzroy.

Miles is a UIAGM/IFMGA Mountain Guide and recipient of the 2004 AMGA “Guide of the Year Award. He is an instructor and examiner for the American Mountain Guides Association. His heli-ski guiding has extended from Alaska to Italy and Switzerland. Miles is a Marmot Athlete/Design Board member and is on the Gore Mountaineering Council. Miles looks forward to sharing the powder of the Chugach with his guests at CPG.
