Marco Tonazzi, a former Italian National Ski Champion, has teamed up with Mark Van Liere to have guests experience the majestic northeast corner of Italy, bordering Austria and Slovenia. He provides the passion for this area, its mountains, the local culture and traditions and makes everyone feel like they are part of the family.

His guiding experience includes over 6 years of ski trips to his home country ski areas: Valbruna and other resorts in the Julian Alps and Cortina in the Dolomites as well as hiking tours in Valbruna exploring the Julian Alps in the summer months. Marco, since 1994, brings Italian groups to ski Vail and Aspen and discover the Colorado Rockies.

He currently splits time living in Vail, Colorado running the Valbruna store and Valbruna Travel and Valbruna, Italy, where he learned to ski as a child. He so loved this picturesque, traditional village, majestically-framed by the Julian Alps that he with two brothers and life long friends re-built a long neglected building and turned it into the ”five-heart”  Valbruna Inn.
